Combustion
propane + oxygen = carbon dioxide + water

substitution with chlorine
methane + chlorine = chloromethane + hydrogen chloride

Addition of Bromine
ethene + bromine = 1,2-dibromoethane

Additon of Hydrogen
ethene + hydrogen = ethane

Addition of water
ethene + steam = ethanol
